Bodrum Travel Forum

I got stuck with only 2 choices (for a friend's family vacation) which I gather are 2 of the best:

Kempinski - 1st choice but havin 2nd thought as it is secluded alone far away from the bustling centrum and:

Marmara - in centrum but far away from the beach

Others in consideration are : WOW resort (along the beach but looks like 4-star and mixed reviews?), Fuga Fun Times (with beach but a bit far from centrum too? Is it a luxury resort?), Moevenpick (new, again, also far from the beach).

I have gone through all the list at TA. Any other 5-star-luxury hotels / resorts near the centrum and the beach that I missed on the list? Would appreciate suggestions and first-hand info. Thanks...

unfortunately there are not really any 5-stars hotels in Bodrum which are located close to Center AND on the beach. However, last year, after searching reviews, pics and comparing for a while, I choosed Salmakis Beach Spa resort. It turned out to be (I believe) the best option that is available in this category... (i.e. close to center and is on the beach) It is about 15 mins walk from the center (which is perfect cause you are still in secluded oasis and the same time within the reach to the "happening places" ) And, also, the hotel is situated on a private beach, wich is rarity in Central Bodrum. I hope it will help.

ps. also, you may choose to stay in Turkbuku, which is a very high end area on the other side of Bodrum peninsula. Lots of turkish famous artists and singers are living/vacationing there. but beware, you probably are going to be only "non turk" there :) check my Bodrum page.
