Las Vegas Age restrictions for Casino's and Shows?
Posted: Sat May 9, 2009 08:48 PM UTC
Hello all,

In july we are 4 days in Las Vegas. We are a family with 2 adolesents (14 and 16 years old) The would love to see the inside of a Casino, not needed to gamble. What is allowed as long as they join us? I wanted to make reservations for The Fray but I read a age restriction of 21 year. What does it mean?
I saw that Tears for Fears will do a show. Is it possible to book it or is it only for guests at a hotel?

Are there more then enough shows and concerts to book even we do not make reservations now? Can anyone help me?

Kind Regards,

Ron Ploeg

You will have to walk through almost all Casino's just to get to your room elevator, if you are staying in a Casino hotel. All Casino's have aisles throughout so the kids will see them. Regarding shows, some may say 21yr but, check that it isn't just for alcohol. They may still allow families but not underage people alone.

Then again, looking at the TFF show, it looks like it may not allow the kids.

If that was you rating me, Thanks. Not sure if your teens are into it but, there are some great go-kart tracks in Vegas. I have tried 3 of them and really enjoyed the slick track one where you slide through the corners.

Some venues are typically 21+ (meaning you have to be of legal drinking age in the US, which is 21) to enter. Places like The Joint in the Hard Rock are like this. Other 21+ restrictions may be only for a specific event, which it seems to be what you have encountered with The Fray and TFF. If you are interested in seeing a headlining type band, its best to research and plan in advance, or pay $$$ to a ticket broker. The Concierge at your hotel can also probably help get last minute tickets. If so, tip him :)

You may have already found this web site which shows all the entertainment options. Link is to the concert section.

The Tears for Fears show is in a suburb of Las Vegas (Henderson). Shows are for everybody and not just for guests at hotels. My wife and I just got back from Las Vegas 2 weeks ago. We did not see any shows, but noticed that they still had a number of daytime shows that you could take your teenagers to.

On our first trip to LV 6 years ago we had our 18 year old and our 15 year old twins with us. As a previous poster stated you will have to walk through the casinos in most hotels and the walking areas are clearly marked. There is also some free entertainment you can see. There was an Hawaiian market where we saw some Luau dancers one evening. We saw a good afternoon magic show 6 years ago put on by Mac King who is still doing shows at Harrah. Check him out.

Take your kids to the Mirage to see Beatle's LOVE show..great for the whole family. LOTS of music. Get the cheap seats up high..they are just as good as the others since alot takes place up in the air. Go see the Lions at the MGM, There are free shows at the Rio that kids can go to. I think you might have a problem with any of the shows at the House of Blues..but most shows don't have an age limit. I do think the house of blues is 18 for most shows. If they serve liquor and they don't serve food I think you will find an age limit.
