From everything I have read in the newspapers, on other forums, and two travel magazines, getting a visa for Angola had become a very hit and miss situation. Any recent travelers to Angola and what problems/delays were encountered, if any?

Much of it will depend upon your nationality: the passport you carry.

Overall getting in by showing up at the border is probably not an option. When I was in Namibia, the Namibian authorities would not even let me go over to speak to them at the official border post. That's why I illegally entered Angola.
