What is best way to get to this Windmill Area from downtown Rotterdam? Can you give us "hints" regarding the visit?

Indeed, it's Kinderdijk, a village near Rotterdam.

You can also go to Schiedam. In Schiedam they actually have the largest windmills of Holland in the middle of the city. One of them you can go in and climb to the top from inside and somebody will explain everything to you.

You can easy get to the windmill from Rotterdam city centre by tram. Its just 20 min by tram.

Yes she's right. Schiedam is a really good idea. The 5 largest windmills of NL are here and they are big!! One of them has been converted into a museum so you get then entire history of that area. On your way to the windmills be sure to check out the chocolate factory and the Jenever (Gin) museum where you can get nice and tipsy and also buy some yummy pinewood flavoured sweets.
