hi.can anyone recommend a fairly cheap nice pension/hostel/guest house to stay in please? in Dubrovnik. i prefer to be in the center or very near and parking available. a place with a good website would be helpful :) i will be there 20June for a couple nights. thanx

There is no parking in the centre of Dubrovnik and, anywhere near the centre, it's at a premium, so your chances of finding somehwere "fairly cheap" that fits that criteria are pretty slim I'd say. Someone here may prove me wrong of course.

An idea of your proposed budget would help.

5-10 minutes from the centre by frequent bus, in the port area of Gruz, the Bokun Guesthouse was a great place to stay (review - http://members.virtualtourist.com/m/92cd3/5ead1/3/), reasonably priced, very well run and welcoming, street parking nearby and they have a good website

It is very popular though, so you'll need to get cracking if you want to get a room there.

Villa Flora in the old town...about 40 Euros for two. A lovely, quiet place right in the middle of the beautiful old town.

I have been to Dubrovnik twice and can highly recommend the following guesthouse, where I will again be staying this summer. It is about 40 Euros per room per night and in Lapad with close access to restaurants, beaches (Lapad Beach and Copa Cabanna Beach), and right close to a bus stop that can take you into old town. If you have a car they will have a place you can park for free as well. Check this website for details and reservations. Happy travels! ;0)
