Hiya!

We are taking the Eurostar from London to Brussels in May and are planning to spend 5 nights in Belgium: 3 in brussels 1 in Antwerp and 1 in Bruges.

We just found out that we can go to prague from brussels for 3 nights. Can we do brussels in 1 and a 1/2 days? (we don't want to be rushing through things)

Would 3 Days in Prague be too much? is prague overrated and expensive? Is Prague a must go place? I know its hot on the tourist agenda

We like to see the main attractions, local markets and local festivels anything cheap or free is great :). Also like to get a feel for the local food and culture.

In both locations can we walk around and find accomadation, for £50 night for 2 people is that doable.

Prague is not over-rated, imo, and 3 days would be fine. You could see much of it in 2, if necessary, but I would give more time to Prague than to Brussels (or I'd miss Antwerp on this trip).

Prague is no more expensive than any other tourist-popular European capital, large town or city. Just don't expect things to be dirt-cheap, because they simply won't be..but some things will be cheaper than in the UK (especially public transport and eating-out, in my experience).

50GBP per night for two is pushing it (as it would be in any major UK city). Try hostels: www.hostelworld.com and www.hostelbookers.com are good places to start.

www.venere.com is a good site for finding hotels (though I doubt you will find much within your budget in central Prague).

You can certainly get around central, historical Prague easily on foot, by tram and by Metro. Haven't been to Brussels, but suspect it is exactly the same.

Don't miss out on Prague! It is very beautfiful and three days is worth it there -- I would advise doing a tour out of the city oin second day - somewhere like Karlstejn Castle which was an easy train ride for (about an hour if I remember right) and then there are other one day trips to the bone chapel? (Read about that one)...but definitely, you won't run out of things to do in Prague...Lucky you! Norman ;)

How exactly are you getting to Prague from Brussels? It seems a little odd to buy a Eurostar ticket here and then travel on to Prague, rather than getting a flight to Prague straight from the UK! If by any chance you would be travelling from Charleroi Airport (called "Brussels South" by the no-frills airlines, which is a bit like calling Brussels Airport "Paris North"!) with Wizz Air, I do hope you have factored in transport costs and time between Brussels and Charleroi Airport, because if not, you may find you have less than 1 1/2 days anyway.
For advice on accommodation etc. in Prague, you might want to go to the Prague rather than the Brussels forum.

Yes we will be flying to Prague, on wizzair on a saturday morning, we have thurdsay afternoon until then in Brussels.
