Prague Favorite Restaurant

We will be in Prague for three nights at the end of May. Could you share some names of your favorite restaurants? We will be staying at the Golden Well and are really excited about going to Prague.

Thanks in advance. Jan

our most pleasant dining surprise was Lary Fary on Dlouha street maybe three blocks from the old town square. great food.
to dine with the upper echelons, Pravda near the Josefov area on Parizska Street is upscale and excellent.
these and several others on my prague page.

Archa is my favourite restaurant in Prague. It is located near the betlehem Chapel; right in the city center.

Hanavský Pavilon is the ultimate romantic experience, located in a Dutch pseudo-Baroque style pavillion, like a little castle, on the hillside with splendid views over the Vlatava river.... Not cheap but just wonderful:

Address: Letenské sady 173

This one was also very nice:

Restaurace U Sv. Ducha
Elišky Krásnohorské 2 Praha 1

But really, there are so many nice restaurants in the historic town centre... Just the first one I mentioned is outstanding.

Hy,
Usually, when we go to Prague, we eat at my home but when we go out we love this couple of restaurant:
U Knihovny, half way between Charles Bridge and Old Town Square, behind the metro Starometska is one of the best I have tried. Meat dishes excellent and abundant, staff very friendly and welcoming, good prices.
Veleslavinova 10, Praha 1 http://www.uknihovny.cz/
Blatnice, at the end of Havelska (the street between Wenceslas Square and Old Town Square with the flower and vegetables market), turn on right in Michalska 50 ms
Michalskŕ 6-8/511, Praga 1
U Vejvodu, restaurant and beer house with typical Czech cuisine, very close to Betlemske Square
Jilská 4, Praga 1
Ciao, Marco

The problem with the advice given so far is that all the recommendations are in the centre and will therefore much pricier than equivalent places out of the tourist area. The tram and metro system in Prague is so good that its simple to get out into the suburbs where you will find plenty of good bars/restaurants at a fraction of the centre prices. Just jump on a tram and see where it takes you. If you make sure you get the same tram back you cant get lost.Ive been to Prague lots times with friends and weve found many excellent places by doing just that . Some we return to everytime we go. One of these is U Slamu. Nothing fancy but a good atmosphere and nicely decorated and great beer and food and pretty cheap as well. Address is Starostrasnicka 52 10000 Praha 10. Phone 274 811 146. Its about 200 yards from Strasnicka metro station (green line)or the 26 tram stops just outside.
