Southern Province Which is the best beach Hikkaduwa, Bentota or Unawatuna?

Hi
We are headign to Colombo Friday 1st of May, and planning to stay there for two days then
hit the souhthern beaches. But we can't quite decide where to go, we've heard Bentota, Hikkaduwa and Unawatuna are among the best beaches. So we can't decide where to go since we have to pick only one.
I read somehwere that Hikkaduwa can get a bit crowded, Is it during this time of year?
Ideally we're looking to stay 2 days for relaxation, somewhere right ont he beach, in a nice Hotel, budget is no issue, maybe learn surfing. Is there such a place? Any advice on somewhere special to stay?

Go for Aditya in Ratgama (between Hikkaduwa and Galle) - an an exclusive, luxury boutique resort with the closest to what you can call a private beach in Sri Lanka. Close enough to Hikkaduwa to utilize the restaurants there.

Or The Fortress in Koggala - 10-12 km east of Galle and close enough to Unawatuna to use the facilities and restaurants there

Thanks for the links. It seems they are more on the very exclusive side. Though they seem beautiful my fear is that we'd be the only ones there. We don't mind a bit of crowd as long as it's not like a july Sunday on Barcelona beach. So what's the beach like during this time of the year?
And do you recommend somewhere with a bit more action?

Beruwala, Bentota, Hikkaduwa and Unawatuna will have more action, esp. over the next 2 long weekend holidays. The beaches in Sri Lanka are seldom crowded like beaches at the Mediterranean.
