Hi,
You can take a train from Margao Station in Goa south to Kerala, the journey may take 9-10 hours to the best of my knowledge, and it's quite a scenic route.
Otherwise you can fly from Goa to Calicut or Cochin (Kingfisher's flights are 3 hr 50 min to Cochin, remember to ask whether it's a direct flight or with stop-overs).
Enjoy your trip!
Ilan

The train ride from goa to Cochin is rather scenic but the time is closer to 20 hours than 10..if i remember correctly it is called Konkan express, not sure.
Flights Kingfishes goes through mangalore calicut bangalore or mumbai.. that is why the time is given as 3 h 50 minutes
Paramount airways have introduced new flights from Goa to cochin once a day direct flight.. Paramount airways unlike other cheapies is an all business class airline with excellent meals. the prices for any airline is around 5500 rupees about 100 euros..one way..
there are two website i use to book tickets in india or from india to another country
one is the familiar travelocity.co.in and the other is yatra.com

Good Luck and enjoy Cochin..

Of course you can get to Kerala from Goa.
There are many trains going from Goa. The best one is Rajadhani Express coming from New Delhi. It is a fully air-conditioned and super fast train. It leaves Madgaon station at 12.45pm and reaches Cochin my midnight. The fare includes meal also, with veg & non veg options.
Other trains are Mangala Express, Netravathi Express which will stop in Tivim station which is closer to Calangute/Baga. You can book tickets 3 months in advance. check out http://www.irctc.co.in for information on this.
If you need more information on Kerala, visit my Kerala travel pages and revert back if you have any questions.
Happy travels!

Greetings, you are on the same coastline in Goa; and it is no problem to journey down the coast to K erala, Train,or bus,--I would choose train. My tip is to avoid staying in Kovalam, comprises just a concrete strip some 200 yards long, fronting the various eateries. The beach sellers will repeatedly pester you. There are other locations, much better locations, do book yourself's at least one day on the Backwaters, the river boat companies are expensive for any trip, you can book from 1 day to 2 weeks, beautiful, tranquil, and not to be missed. ask around and you will find a local who will take on his boat[haggle go for just over half the quoted price.------make sure you take water, and a hat.---------------hope you have a great vacation.
