Hi,

I am traveling to Havana in September and I'm now in the process of planning my trip. Before leaving I'm doing some research. I would like to get in touch with people living in Havana. The Miramar or the La Sierra area would be ideal.

The reason for asking is I have to go there for work to do research on a company that used to be located on 5ta Avenida. I will not mention the name because I do not want to advertise altough the company does not exist anymore. I would like to chat or email with people in the vicinity before I go. Truly, you would meet hundreds of people who would gladly talk to you but once again if the company existed there before the triumph of the Cuban Revolution in 1959, you would have to find people who are in the 70s..Many of the people from Miramar migrated to Miami so i would think that a Miami search would yield more for you than a cuban search before the trip. Currently Miramar is full of embassies one after another since over 100 countries maintain embassies or consulates in Havana. If you have any specific questions, i can answer you or help you and we can chat when I am in the USA the next time... which would be in June just before returning to Cuba. All the best. You would be surprised how open an average cuban is to the foreigner. Good Luck with the project.
