San Francisco Public transport system in San Francisco

This is my first trip to San Franciso. Hope someone can help:

1. What is the best way (apart from taking a cab) to go to Mofatt House at 7th Avenue from San Francisco Airport? Is there any fast train or undderground from the airport to the city center?

2. What is the approximate cost for the single trip?

Thank you.

BART to Glen Park station, then the 44 bus north to Judah St. There's also a light rail near that corner, but it meets the BART at Civic Center, which is much further in and would take longer due to backtracking.
To get these sort of directions for many cities, you can use Google. Go to http://maps.google.com/, click "Get Directions," type in your origin and destination, and change the "By car" drop-down to "By public transit." It's usually pretty accurate, particularly for the Bay Area. It even tells you how much it will cost!
