hello there! my brother and his friends are attending a CG Overdrive expo in Singapore. They said its in Singapore Expo.

Does anybody know any affordable yet good place to stay near this area?

Singapore Expo is one stop away from the Changi International AIrport. So unless you wanna stay at the airport hotel...

SIngapore Expo station is on the East-West MRT line, so getting a place to stay along a E-W MRT station shouldn't be too bad (Singapore really isn't that big).

Try Hotel 81 or Fragrance Hotel chains. These are no frills...

There is one little nostagic hotel near Expo but not sure of the conditions. It has been there in at least since 1970 when I passed by on my way to visit my grandfather at Old Changi Beach. Two years ago, I was in the area and still saw the sign but the rustic surrounding has been replaced by middle-class landed private housings.

It looks near on the map to Expo but the I doubt the accessibility.
Unless there is a walking path across the green patch behind the "ITE College". (you can check with the hotel for details)

Even then, there are many more places in Singapore with MUCH MUCH better accessibility to MRT, food, and happenings. Example: Ibis

since my brother and his friends are actually just students, we're looking for a place for backpackers. A friend mo mine recommended The Hives and Inn Crowd but they're far away from the Expo. any other place for backpackers near the Expo??
