Ho Chi Minh City to Phnom Phen by boat

How do I go from Saigon to Phnom Phen by boat on the Mekong? Or ist this even possible?

you can go by boat.
it's quite easy to organise through a travelagency in ho chi minh city.

Yup, any travel agency will arrange for the travel. However, I'm not sure if the border at Chau Doc do process Cambodian visa. If they do not, you have to get the visa done in HCMC.

If you are not in a hurry, joining a Mekong Delta tour is a nice option for this route. The tour will starts in HCMC and ends in Phnom Penh. You have a choice of a 2 day tour, 3 day or more. I opt for a 3 day/2night tour organized by Sinh Cafe in HCMC and it cost USD28 inclusive of accomadations and breakfast.

i crossed the chau doc border on my bicycle last year and i would not count on getting a visa there.
it's a quite small and primitive border post.
get in ho chi minh.
it will only take you a day.

A Cambodian visa can be obtained at the Chau Doc river customs for $25 (not in the town).
You can join this trip with a Mekong trip (orgainsed in Saigon).
