Glasgow Outside Glasgow.

Hi I am flying to Glasgow in May for a weekend with 10 lads. Can anyone suggest anywhere outside Glasgow to stay, town or countryside. Doesnt have to be too lively, but with something to do or visit and a few welcoming bars that wouldnt mind a group. We are using Glasgow International so anywhere within a reasonable distance. Many thanks.

How about Stirling mate. It's only about half an hour in the train from Glasgow city centre and is a very historic and interesting wee place with a selection of bars. Here's a link to wikitravel's page on Stirling - http://wikitravel.org/en/Stirling

Can't really think of anywhere else within a close vicinity to Glasgow that would be worth staying in.

Cheers mate. I will have a look. Didnt realise it was the same weekend as Scottish Cup final. Also a few of the lads will want to watch the English FA cup final, which could be tricky.

Yeah, would be great to see Falkirk win but can't really see it. If you're football fans it could we worth taking a wee trip to Hampden for the Scottish Football Museum. I've never been but it's meant to be really good. Here's a link to it: http://www.scottishfootballmuseum.org.uk/scottish_football.cfm?curpageid=342
