Seoul Serviced residences in Seoul
Posted: Tue April 21, 2009 06:03 PM UTC
Hello all,

me and my boyfriend are traveling to South Korea for the first time Aug 28 - Sept 21. We would like to stay in a serviced residence, but we can't decide between Han Residences and Hyundai Residences. Both offer a really low price for the duration of our stay (23 nights; both are about €600-700 per person) and we were wondering what the catch is.
If any of you has any experience with either one of these (I've read all the reviews on Tripadvisor and Asiarooms (+ numerous others) already, but still :)) or has any useful tips on specific serviced residences in Seoul or just in general, we'd be really grateful.

Also, do you think it's better to stay in Seoul, buy a rail pass for 10 days and travel around, returning to Seoul each time, or move to a different city every time? We have this dilemma because we'll be traveling from Europe with huge bags because we'll be staying for almost a month, so we're not sure whether moving all the stuff around all the time is a good idea.

Thank you for all your help!

First of all, because of your luggage issues, you should probably stay in Seoul and travel all over. That being said, of the ones you have looked at, I would choose the Han Suites...haven't heard anything bad about them and I usually recommend people stay there. I do know that the Han offers a free shuttle to the shopping areas and also include a cell phone with the room. However, just to make your choices more difficult, you should also take a look at CO-OP Residence Uljiro at this link:

There is no catch, those really are the prices...in fact, at the current exchange rate, it may be even cheaper for you to book right now. Korea just happens to be really cheap for foreigners right now. Honestly, either place that is close to a subway stop would be good for you.

Hi Teja & Sebastian

I think you'd better to use keeping luggage service in Incheon airport.
they have two keeping luggage centers inside airport terminal.
So you can bring out small bags for korea travel for comportable itenerary .

they advised me that rate is up to the size and period.
As center is runs by Hanjin company, they cannot inform me the exact rate.
Please check this wepsite ( http://www.airport.kr/ )
and you can leave a inquiry for exact information.

By the way what is your currency in Slovenia now?
do you still use Tollar currency ?
When I visit Ljubljana and Bled, your currency was Tollar.
so I still have dozens of tollar coins in my drawer!

Thank you both for your answers!

Bryankang, we don't use the tollar anymore (ah, memories :D). We switched to euros on January 1st, 2007, following our 2004 entry to the European Union.
Tollars can now be exchanged into other currencies (here) or sold to collectors. The last exchange rate was 239,640 tollars = 1€.
