Forum Question Posted By: Replies:
Dubrovnik Transport to/from Valamar Lacroma Resort
Posted: Tue April 21, 2009 08:59 AM UTC
Hello,

Me and a friend are visiting Dubrovnik in July, and are considering staying at the Valamar Lacroma Resort (located on Iva Dulcica 34), however, we are a little worried about transport to and from the town itself, as the resort appears to be located a fair bit outside of town and we would like to see the town as well during our vacation. :)

So the question is, is there any buses running from this area to central Dubrovnik? How much would they cost and how frequently do they run?

How much, approximately, would it cost to catch a cab for this distance? (It's supposed to be about 6 km, although I'm sure any locals will know better than I whether that is correct or not.)

Any help much appreciated!

/Anna.

I looked on the Mag for this new resort which was not there when I stayed on Babib Kuk (Lapad peninsular) about 3 years ago. It is not that far from where we were staying.
There is an excellent, frequent bus service right to the entrance to the old town. The cost was very little - our apartment owner advised us to buy tickets in advance from the nearby Kompas Hotel ( most hotel reception desks sell them) which meant they were even cheaper.
We did not use a taxi at all. When we went into the old town in the evening we usually reurned soon after 11pm but the buses did run later than that.
There are restaurants and bars on the Peninsular so you do not have to go in to town every night but on the whole it is a quieter place to be based.
Enjoy Dubrovnik!

Hi there,

I have stayed twice at a wonderful guesthouse on Iva Dulcica (31 B, specifically) that had a wonderful charm and a very hospitable family that can recommend the best things to do that only locals would know.

I highly recommend it and their house is located right next to the bus station, where the bus would take you right to the old town in 10-15 min. It is worth checking out as they are close to Lapad Beach, Copa Cabanna Beach and restaurants, shopping. Lapad is the new "in" place to stay and that is where I will again be staying this summer.

Check out the link below for details on this guesthouse

Safe and happy travels!
