Hi, Housing varies according to the suburb, services in the area, transport, distance from city and metropolitan centres, size and condition of the house/ unit.I guess a home unit could vary from $400 to $1500 per week, location and condition.
be more specific

As Mike said, for us to help with advice you really need to be more specific.
How long are you planning to stay? If it's a short time then you'll need to stay in a hotel or hostel because to rent an apartment or house requires a longer lease. If you plan to stay longer then the rental will very enormously depending on location, quality, type, size. You'll get some rental rates from www.realestate.com.au
Transport costs depend entirely on where you're travelling from and to and which method you choose - ferry, taxi, bus, train, tram.

Hi,
As Mike and Colin pointed out, it depends on where you live what the costs are.
Transport costs near the CBD is nto expensive, but the further you head away from the CBD, the more expensive it gets.
Most Expensive Areas = CBD, Eastern Suburbs, Lower North Shore, Inner West.
Mid Expensive Areas = Upper North Shore, Northern Beaches, Southern Suburbs.
Least Expensive Areas = Western Suburbs.
It also depends on the type of accomodation too, as there can be cheap rentals in the expensive areas.
