Vienna Getting from train station to Pension Mozart
Posted: Sun April 19, 2009 07:57 PM UTC
I arrive in Vienna in two weeks and I am taking the train from Prague. Any advice for which train, tram or bus to take from the station to Pension Mozart, Theobaldgasse 15, 1060 Wien.

The pension website has a map and fairly clear directions, in English:

http://www.pension-mozart.at/generate.php?dir=en&id=2

From the Westbahnhof you take the U3 underground and get off at Neubaugasse, from the Sudbahnhof you take the S-bahn D and get off at Babenbergerstrasse

Not from me......I haven't been to Vienna yet!

But do look at the VT Vienna pages...they are stuffed with ideas of what to see/do, all written by locals and visitors;

Vienna is a wonderful city to walk around as most of the sights are close together. Schonbrunn Castle is a short underground trip as is the Prater where you can ride the giant ferris wheel (Reisenrad) which gives you a fabulous view over Vienna. I love the Spanish Riding School at the Imperial Palace and of course, Sissi's apartments which are also there. A walk around the Ringstrasse is a great way to see so many wonderful buildings. Stephansdom is really beautiful and if you continue down from there to the Canal, you can have a lovely walk along the water. If you want to do something really interesting for dinner, get on a #38 tram and go to Grinzing and enjoy the new wine served in the Heurigers there. If you go out to Grinzing early enough, you can enjoy a walk in the Vienna Woods. I'll be back there in September and I can't wait. It is well up there on my Cities of Europe hit parade. I just love it and I hope you will too. Have a wonderful stay in the city of dreams.
