Vienna is a wonderful city to walk around as most of the sights are close together. Schonbrunn Castle is a short underground trip as is the Prater where you can ride the giant ferris wheel (Reisenrad) which gives you a fabulous view over Vienna. I love the Spanish Riding School at the Imperial Palace and of course, Sissi's apartments which are also there. A walk around the Ringstrasse is a great way to see so many wonderful buildings. Stephansdom is really beautiful and if you continue down from there to the Canal, you can have a lovely walk along the water. If you want to do something really interesting for dinner, get on a #38 tram and go to Grinzing and enjoy the new wine served in the Heurigers there. If you go out to Grinzing early enough, you can enjoy a walk in the Vienna Woods. I'll be back there in September and I can't wait. It is well up there on my Cities of Europe hit parade. I just love it and I hope you will too. Have a wonderful stay in the city of dreams.
