thanks guys! (Cachaseiro as always - all over the world! :-) )
I am thinking of using them on flight Tel-Aviv Helsinki Tel-Aviv. Other options (for the days I need to fly) are Malev or Lot or some Baltic company, those being a bit cheaper (but really only a bit) but the schedule is not nearly as good as SN Brussel has. Note: no straight flights between Israel and Finland. Austrian Airlines and Czech Airlines that I have used in passed are already full booked.

Yes I heard that on Air Baltic one needs to bring his own sandwiches. :-)
And there is far too many hours wait in Warshaw or Budapest in the other options, and late night arrival in FIN. I will definitely go for SN Brussel - only 20$ difference and not too many hours to wait for connections.

you can get pretty much everything on air baltic, but you gotta pay extra for it, including water.

SN doesn't have anything to do with the glamorous Sabena...
...since the merge with Virgin, that can now be assimilated to any other low cost company!
If you travel in B-light, you'd also have to pay for pretty much everything.

SN Brussels Airlines has ICAO code: SAB and IATA code: SN
Sabena haD ICAO code: SAB and IATA code: SN
maybe this made me wrong, what about the slots? are the same of Sabena or not? I believe YES!

I do know Sabena declared "bankruptcy" about 7/8 years ago. Actually, when I mentioned I meant I did not notice any great difference, everthing fine..........

.....as I noticed instead between Swiss and Swissair, I mean in worse way.....
cheers

Sure, prices are lower then before but I have to say I used in the past for going to USA as was cheaper then other. Lately I used SN only for going to Brussel.. but the service is fine if comparated to other airlines which make higher prices.

Funny you mention the Swiss ;-)
Indeed Swissair bought Sabena and literally killed it! That's the bankruptcy you are mentioning.
SN Brussels Airline inherited the remaining (fleet and slots I guess) of Sabena.
A couple of years later, they merged with Virgin to form "Brussels Airline" (without SN).

As a result, we now have pretty much a low cost company. The services provided by Sabena are just a memory from the past. For the European flights, we only have an economy class (b.flex with lunch included and b.light with lunch as an option).
This may not be applicable for the longer flights but I don't have any experience with those.
