Montreal Taxi from Cote-St-Luc to Dorval Airport
Posted: Sun April 19, 2009 10:39 AM UTC
How much would you estimate a taxi would cost from the Cavendish Mall area of Cote-St-Luc to Dorval Airport? I imagine it would involve going around through Van Horne/Fleet and the Decarie circle, as there seems to be no direct route over the train tracks. Thanks.

Hey,

I live not far from this area and from my place to the airport is around $25, I think you're looking at closer to $30/$35 possibly even $40. There is definitely no way past the tracks and I guess you could go via Decarie circle. Be careful if your flight is around traffic times (7:30am-9:00am// 3:30p - 6:00p) because it can get really heavy in that area. I would take Cavendish to the 20 West (ville st.pierre exit) then the airport is right off the 20. This is usually better for traffic too. But maybe the taxi/ google maps knows better.

There is unfortunately no go public transit option :( (unless you take a bus from the central buss station- Berri Uquam down-town) But than you're going backward to go forward... good luck.

I have driven through the Decarie circle many times and it is always at least a little janmmed, mainly in the direction of the Metropolitan East. However, going north to Ville St. Laurent or west in the direction of the airport/Ottawa it was never crowded. The problem during rush hour are the *approaches* to the Decarie circle, mainly on the Decarie Expressway going north, but also the northbound service road. Your suggestion makes a lot of sense for the rush hour. However, I'll leave it for the cab driver to decide - he'll know best (unfortunately I will have to leave for the airport around 5pm).

Thanks for your input.
