When did Buffett sell, and do you know if he owns any or just lends his name? Thanks for your response.

Hi Talley Mom, your question seems to be a bit vague, may like to expand a little. This is a travel forum, so nontravel questions often get deleted. Were you reading something that you wanted to respond to?
Welcome to VT by the way, enjoy your time here, it's a fun place :-))

Yes it was, and thanks, this is quite informative. Going to Key West for the first time June 1st. Some guy posted the JB did not own the M'ville Cafe in KW. I found it surprising and was trying to follow up. Seems like it would be common knowledge, but perhaps not.

Margaritaville is a Chain Restaurant along the line of Sizzler but, with 11 stores. He may get royalties or he may even own a piece. I don't know. He lives in Key Largo sometimes but not in Key West as far as I know.

Oh yes, your question ends up in a forum and doesn't show that you were asking about the M'Ville Cafe :-))
Lets hope someone can answer your query.

From Wikipedia
Aside from his career in music, Buffett is also a best-selling writer and is involved in two restaurant chains named after two of his best known songs, "Cheeseburger in Paradise" and "Margaritaville". He owns the Margaritaville Cafe restaurant chain and co-developed the Cheeseburger in Paradise restaurant concept with OSI Restaurant Partners (parent of Outback Steakhouse), which operates the chain under a licensing agreement with Buffett.

If you are a Buffett fan, You will most likely enjoy a local band that plays around town regularly. Try and catch "Howard Livingston and the Mile Marker 24 Band" if you can. They play their own origional material. Buffett moved up to West Palm Beach years ago.

...But still has a lot of presence in Key West, with not only the Margaritaville Cafe and Store, but Shrimpboat Sound, his recording studio on the Bight.
