Ephesus Travel Forum

I will spend 2 weeks in Turkey this summer and would like to see Ephesus and Virgin Mary house. Does anybody have idea how much can be a private tour? Exploring Ephesus on my own is also an option... Need advice and recommendations, thanx in advance!

you can easily do this on your own, but you will miss a lot of understanding of what your are seeing while in ephesus where a knowledgeable guide will add a great deal to your visit. they can't really add a lot to the house of mary. the underestimated museum in town is absolutely worth the thirty minutes it takes to see it -small but very nice. with a guide you can also get him to drive you to the site of the temple of artemis for the 3 minutes it takes to see the place and maybe the basilica of st. john or sirince.
two weeks is a lot of time - maybe i missed some of your earlier posts. are you planning on staying near ephesus in selcuk or somewhere else and how much time to you have to allot to your stay here.

If you wish you can annex a tourist group in Ephesus and hear what the tour guide tells.. It is free. by-standing and looking around is free like in a shop. :)))

thank you! as I thought, to hire a guide is the best option in a place as Ephesus! I am new on the forum, should have joined it long time ago. Two weeks of my holiday I will spend in Kuşadasi, which is around 20 min driving distance from Ephesus I think. Thank you again for a quick reply!
