Need advise on airport travel and lantau

Hello,

Since I am not able to squeeze Lantau and Macau Island on the same day I thought it would be best to see Lantau island on my last day in HK- it being a tuesday also helps in terms of crowds.

here is what I need help with-

I plan to check out of Cityview Hotel (yau ma tei)-leave luggage with Concierge and head towards Tung Chung station via MTR with interchange at Lai King.
Spend morning -afternoon at Lantau. Come down to Citygate mall for last minute shopping- head back from Tung Chung to Yau Ma Tei at 5- reach Cityview hotel by 6 and take the 7pm A21 bus.

Does this seem reasonable? I know we can check in our bags are Kowloon Station Airport Express, but what about hand luggage? Where can I leave that? We have 2 backpacks as hand luggage

Also, From tung chung Mtr, how does one reach the aiport?

You says you will take the A21 bus, if it goes to Tung Chung, you can take a bus from Tung Chung to the airport or you can take a taxi there. It's not expensive. For your backpacks, I think you need to carry them yourselves, but I'm not sure.
