Re: From salou to Sitges Posted: Thu April 16, 2009 10:35 PM UTC
I guess badger spent his days (and nights) in the wrong pub in Salou. I'm visiting again next week for my seventh visit and have yet to get pissed. never been in one of many 'brit bars' and have always enjoyed Salou and its surrounding towns. Whether spending an afternoon in Hospitalet, Cambrils, Reus or Tarragona, all have their own personality.
Salou itself offers lots for everyone, millions spent on it's promenade, attractive fountains and a decent old town. Sure it has international bars but also many Spanish / Catalan shops, diners and pubs. It's beaches are clean and the council have taken great strides to improve the town. Visitors are welcomed and the locals are friendly. Treat people nice and they tend to treat you nice, show a willingness to grasp the language and they smile and laugh with you, not at you. You say you will be based in Salou, enjoy, we do.
