Forum Question Posted By: Replies:
Vienna what travel card
Posted: Wed April 15, 2009 05:47 PM UTC
Dear All,

This Monday I arrive in Vienna and plan to spend 2 days and 2 nights.
Cause of that I need your help to answer the following question:

Please advice a travel card in Vienna for 48hours to get to most
important sightseeing. I tried to check Vienna's Subway Web-site.
But could find only 24h and 72h and got lost with zones.

Please advice right one.

Thank you.

Dear Maryimelda,

Thank you a lot!
I think I can reach with this 48h pass all of needed sightseeing.

In the article recommended by Maryimelda you will see there's a 48-hour season ticket which costs 10 euros. I consider it the most convenient kind of travelcard. In fact the Vienna Card, which costs almost twice as much, provides only small discounts on entrance fees at museums and attractions, so in two days you will not be able to take advantage of enough discounts to cover the difference in price.
You should not worry about zones, because the "central area" includes also Schoenbrunn, which is the only non-very-central attraction.
