I cannot help you with the bars but can with the transport.

The cheapest way is far from the easiest!

You take a local bus from Faro airport into the city. €1.55, 18 minutes journey. However these are very infrequent so you might need a taxi. cost €8 approximately.

From Faro Bus Terminal to Lagos there are seven direct buses on weekdays, but only two on Saturdays and Sundays, cost €4.95 and taking about 2hours 10 minutes for the journey.

There are several daily trains from Faro to Lagos, taking about 1hr 45 minutes and costing €6.15 one-way.

I have bus times Faro - Lagos on my website at www.algarvebus.info/002s.htm and train times at

www.algarvebus.info/006.htm

Local buses at the airport www.algarvebus.info/003.htm

If your flight times do not tie in with the buses or trains you will need to be book an airport transfer minibus from one of the many companies. This might cost 50 or 60 Euros but is much quicker, around 1hour 15 minutes.

Hope that helps.

I still say the best way is to hire a car.You can share all costs between you all and your free to do as you wish.

Arnhem 44 - that's true enough but it you are under 25 you probably can't hire a car and a lot of people still don't have driving licences - myself included!

i would just take the train.
the train station is smack in the center of town in lagos and the trains are very cheap.

the most famous bar in lagos is joes garage.
it's totally insane and one heck of a party.

another lively bar is whytes bar which is run by a very friendly austarlian couple.

the bars in lagos are among the craziest on the planet so be ready to party.
