Carcassonne VEGETARIANS and Italian restaurants, Carcassonne
Posted: Mon April 13, 2009 11:29 AM UTC
We are due to visit Carcassonne for 3 days at the end of April. We are vegetarians, and are probably looking for Italian restaurants - in the ville basse. Discovered a few searching the net: L'Italia, Le Rialto, Divine Comedie - wondered if anyone could help with opening times/days? We will be staying Sat, Sun and Mon nights, and realise that Sunday and also Monday can be difficult. We prefer evening meals. Would be grateful for any help here. Many thanks in anticipation, GNW

As a vegetarian myself who has visited Languedoc a couple of times I'd say that you'll struggle to find a vegetarian restaurant at all in Carcassonne. I'd be surprised if there are any between Toulouse and Montpellier.

On our frequent visits to France - including the Languedoc, we often travel with a vegetarian family member and have noticed more and more places offering a veggie option.
Salads, omelettes, vegetable pizzas and pasta dishes, cheese and tomato filled Croque Monsieur are always good to fall back on.

Restaurants usually serve lunch between 12 noon and 2pm; Dinner from 7.pm - til 9 or later in some places.
Fast food cafes in busy tourist areas may be open without a mid day closing.

not a vegetarian ,but most restos of any notoriaty will accommodate you if you ask. i just did a VT Paris meeting here (see my VT Paris pages on bottom) and one of the ladies was, and she was offer a menu all veggies even thus the restaurant did not advertise as vegetarian. Carcassone should do the same.

however, these two claim to be veggies all
