I see the Parade takes place the 2nd Saturday of August. We are lucky, we will be in Chicago the 8th August 2009.
How is usualy the parade ?
Is there a jazz concert ?
What are the itinerary and the schedule ?
What is the metro station to attend the Parade ?
Where is the pic nic ?

The parade route is usually down Martin Luther King drive to Washington Park where the picnic is held. The best way to get to it is the #3 bus which you can catch on Michigan Ave. The Wikipedia's article is a good source of information about the parade and its history:
