Manila Restaurants in Manila
Posted: Sun April 12, 2009 02:08 PM UTC
My wife, and I are looking for 3 good restaurants in Manila, preferalbly not in Makati.

1. A good sushi bar

2. A good American or Austrailina Steak House

3. A good Japanese Steak House.

We already know a handfull of decent restaurants in Manila, but we would also be interested to hear people's recommendations on other restaurants that don't fall into the 3 catagories we inquired about.

I went to a "Singing Restaurant" in Manila. At a certain time, all the staff will sing with their pots and pans. Thought it was unique.

I was taken there by someone while in Manila but cannot remember the location. It is quite famous and so you can ask the hotel concierge. I remember there is more than one outlet.

Googled and found this Youtube, looks similar to the place I have been. Interesting atmosphere.

Another place I dined was in a fancy Chinese restauarant Chinatown (Quepa), across Pasig River in Manila. You got to try Jolly Bee at least once.

I've had Jollie Bee many times, after all this will be my eighth trip to the Philippines. I've even eaten at the Jollie Bee in Daly City, on my last two trips to California.

Thanks
Douglas

Lahoree:

The cooks don't sing while they're cooking. The cooks and waiters take a little time off from their regular duties and double as entertainers. They sing as a group.
