Hi, I am thinking of a trip to Baffin Island next summer. I'd like to go on my own/ without an organized group. Is here anybody who has been there and would like to share some info? Thank you very munch in advance..

Unless you are an experienced Arctic traveller with serious funds you have NO HOPE of doing anything on your own.

I have been up to Baffin Island twice. I stayed in Iqaluit which is the capital of Nunavut. It is very expensive up there since everything must be flown in. There are operators up there you can hook up with but like the other post said, you need the money but you can go up alone. Canadian North and First Air flies up there from Ottawa and First Air also clies up from Montreal.
