hi, we're coming back to beni in june and want to explore the area around. does anyone know whether its easier to get to javea and denia by bus or train. any info appreciated.

The local train, that is travelling between Denia and Alicante, is the second best choice after hiring a car. The train has stops in Denia, Calpe, Altea, Benidorm etc. But you cannot get close to the centre of Javea, I'm afraid!
The local bus traffic is a joke. Even the locals, who should know the routes and timetables, are laughing at it.
By hiring a car you could travel easily along the coast. All the small towns Denia, Javea, Moraira, Calpe and Altea are worth visiting. On the mountains you should visit Guadalest and Valley of Laguart.
In Polop there is a fantastic restaurant called Ca L'Angeles!

I almost forgot! There is a sightseeing boat travelling between the coastal towns. I once tried one that was travelling between Denia and Altea, so it should be possible to travel to Denia and Javea by boat from Altea, perhaps from Benidorm too.
There are at least two companies working there. By combining the trips of Excursiones Maritimas Benidorm and Mundo Marino, you could travel to Denia and Javea and even to the other towns.
