Ho Chi Minh City Pricing at Ben Thanh Market?
Posted: Wed April 8, 2009 02:56 AM UTC
Hi there, some people are saying there are better prices in HCMC. Where exactly would i find these? I am visiting HCMC in 2 weeks and want to look at exporting goods.

Is someone able to help?

Thank you.

Really depends on what sort of goods your looking for, markets out in D5 are probably the best bet

the ben thanh market is made up of abunch of little agressive venders. things are dirt cheap tshirts 2bucks etc.what we did was to hire a peddy cap driver to deal with the venders to get us the best prices.pay him some now and some later.I can't say for sure if our tip works but the language barrier is a challenge .and the seem to feel important about there job . by flashing a old faded badge that they are somehow approved tourist agents .good luck.

Hi,

I'm a Vietnamese guys. Honestly, the price at Ben Thanh Market is very high. It can be understood as they have to pay a big money to have a store in Ben Thanh market. If you have time and want to walk around the city, you can buy things you want with the cheaper price :).

If you would like to, we can have a coffee sometimes. My phone numbers is 0933 242 054.
Welcome to HCM city and enjoy your trip :)

Hey that's a great idea, I do have a friend there who has local colleagues which I may also do something similar with. I want to buy in bulk and am pretty picky about quality, not so much price.

Thank you for your help!

Hi,

It takes about 30 minutes to go from Ben Thanh Market to D5. D5 is the famous place for food, especially Chinese food.
