Singapore Return/Onward Passage

Does a US citizen arriving in Singapore need proof of return/onward passage?
The US State Department Consular Information Sheet for Singapore does not mention such a requirement, though they mention it on almost all countries where it is required. Does anyone have a definitive answer?

We were in Singapore last month for a few days and we never had to show any such proof or documents. We are US citizens.

true, but its a basic requirements technically speaking since you are not resident of Singapore and you are just given a particular time to stay.It depends on the immigration officer mood, sometimes, they are not bored so they ask for ur onward or return documents.It might happen, so be sure you have that always.

U can drop them an email: ica_feedback@ica.gov.sg to enquire about the onward ticket for confirmation.

I've went thru the website http://www.ica.gov.sg but it's stated as "where applicable" so I shouldn't assume less it creates unnecessary trouble for you :)

I was there twice in January with a US passport and it was quick without any questions. However just like anywhere else if they want to ask you for proof they can. My guess would be that unless they don't like the way you look or you grab their attention for some other reason they won't ask you for any documentation for onward passage.
