Hello!

Could you recommend a budget accomodation in the city? I mean a bed and breakfast or a similar place.

Thanks!

some hotels here

best value are the Ibis chain in city center

another chain that i use a lot in Europe is this one, you can look for it in Brussels

I usually stay in hotels with the Accor chain (includes Ibis hotels)
hope it helps

I can recommend the Hotel de la Madeleine.
Found it by recommendation from another, stayed there and very satisfied over all. Small 2*, close to train station, Grand Place and all.
Clean. Helpful desk staff.

Choice of rooms w or w/o facilities in the room.

Have fun!

there is a very nice and centrally located place that is called sleep well.
it's a hostel style place, but it has singles too and they are only 30 euros a night.

Hotel La Madeleine is very good (or at least was the last time we stayed there in 2003). I've heard about Sleep Well but never stayed there (but if it's endorsed by Claus, it must be good!)

Are you going to Brussels in the summer (or in the spring when there is no convention or major EU event going on)? If so, and if you're willing to take a small risk, just show up and go to the tourist office the morning you arrive. Unless there's a major event, you should be able to get a very nice hotel at a steeply discounted price.

Have some mussels and beer for me! 8)

Cheers,

Mark
