Hi everybody,

We are planning for a trip to Goa. We are a group of 12 adults and 3 children and are planning to stay at Colva Beach. We intend to hire cars for sightseeing to North Goa and South Goa. Can anyone give us an estimate of the cost involve in hiring a car for a full day of sightseeing to North Goa and South Goa? Also if possible please suggest us names of few Tours and Traveling agency who can provide the cars we need for sightseeing.

Hi there,
With such a big group, its better to hire a minibus that can accomodate 14 people.
Have a look at this website.
http://www.samsantravels.com/carhire.htm
This will give you an idea of transport rentals in India. This website is for a Mumbai based company, but should give you a fair idea about prevailing rates.
For arranging transportation, best option would be to approach the Hotel staff. They can help you arrange transportation for local sightseeing.
Alternatively, just approach any of the travel agents located in the market place. There are numerous travel agents all over Goa. Just do your homework well before you approach them. In other words, be aware of the prevailing rates and then set it as a benchmark for further negotiations. Always bargain for the best rates. Approach 3-4 travel agents before you finalize one.
Hope this helps

Hi,
The hotel u r staying in will make the car available for u. Its very common in Goa and charges r reasonable. Almost every1 charges the same amount as car rent.

If you guys want to drive yourself, nothing like it. Hire 2 SUV's like Innova & or Scorpio's, they come at around 1600 rupees per vehicle for 24 hours, which works to almost half of what you will hire from a hotel, they would charge you 1600 for 6-8 hours. The advantage is, you get to keep the vehicle with yourself and you can head out early mornings and late nites at your convenience and disposal.

I know of a person who can get you the vehicles, i usually hire it from him, nice chap and will come and drop it at the airport or station, his name is Collin - +919823255114

In case your not up for driving, you can ask him to provide the vehicles with driver, offcourse you will have to pay the driver whatever the nominal charges are .

Fuel you can fill as much as you drive.

You could refer my name(Agnelo from Bangalore), Collin would probably not ask for the caution deposit (which all self driven car hirers ask) and will give you a good deal as well.

Have fun.

hope the following is useful.-----make your way upto Benaulim beach, some 10/12 minutes away from where you will be.Just be fore you step down from the road onto the actual beach.there are 5 or six small businesses, one is a small shop selling a variety of products, including ice cream, drinks, etc. Just ask for Domingo, or his charming wife Fatima, any one will point you to them. Domingo will get you the best deals on transport, will drive you anywhere in a modern trasit, is one hundred percent trustworthy, and a thouroughly reliable and honest person.---use my name Antony Beaumont[remind him i was the English guy who rented the house of his friends in 2005.---please if you do get together with them convey my warmest regards and tell them i have never forgotten them or their many kindnesses.----Domingo will take good care of you .Have a great time.
