Goa POSTING GOODS FROM GOA
Posted: Sat April 4, 2009 11:30 AM UTC
i have been on holiday to Goa and posted a large 20 gram parcel by sea mail. when i got home i reallised on the reciept it didnt have my postcode correct or name of town, there is a number instead of letter on postcode, so now i dont know if it will arrive. i would like to know where goods from india dock at in uk. so maybe i can get in touch with them to find parcel. also does anyone know how long parcels take to arrive to uk from Goa. on reciept it has indiapost.

http://www.indiapost.gov.in/SpcDetails/Managers.aspx

lists contact information for various postmasters in India. You may be able to find a contact point for where you posted your parcel.

On arrival in the UK presumably the Royal Mail/Parcel Force will deal with your parcel. Contact points for them here:

For an idea of delivery speeds (from the UK to India, so it may take longer the other way) look at:

Okay, the receipt doesn't have the correct information but is the label on the parcel addressed correctly? If so, then there should be no problem about it arriving in due course. I have noticed that there is often a difference in the information on either customs labels, receipts and so on. Even if the address is incorrect, the post office will track you down, even if it does take a little while.

thank you so much for replies, which have been helpful. i do not know if the address on parcel was done properly as the shop did it and took to post office in calangute. I did write clearly the address though in their book. not sure if parcel will come parcelforce or courier. no way of finding out. thankyou anyway.
