angkor and khmer new year

is it reasonable to visit angkor wat on april 15-16 or will it be closed for khmer new year?

is the khmer new year a nice time to visit angkor wat if it is indeed open?

i greatly appreciate any input.

We were in Cambodia and Laos during Khmer New Year last year. All places were open during that time, so I think Angkor Wat will be open too, but I am not sure, we were in Angkor a few days before, it is a very 'hot' time to visit Angkor, but if you like the heat it is okay,
and the Khmer New Year is fun, we were in little towns in Laos and were biking and from time to time children threw buckets of water over us, that was fun and refreshing!
