I've stayed at Bong Sen for a month at a time on several trips prior to moving to Vietnam. There is Bong Sen 1 on Dong Khoi Street, the high-end shopping district and Bong Sen Annex one block over. If at all possible I'd recommend switching to Bong Sen 1 or finding another hotel. I stayed at Bong Sen Annex for four days and it was ok for me but the street its on, Hai Ba Trung, is slightly on the seedy side and sidewalks can be difficult to walk on. Motorbikes, street vendors, uneven pavement and trees bulging out of the cement force you to sidestep and walk in the street to get around them. I haven't been down there for two months and I don't know if any improvements have been done, but I doubt it. A couple seedy bars (but very safe) are close by and kind of add a nostalgic 'GI bar' atmosphere. I'm sure you won't be hassled and it is a safe area, but the sidewalks and a few hustlers just might annoy you. On the other hand, Bong Sen 1 is extremely safe and you can feel comfortable coming and going any time of day or night. It's a 3-star rated hotel and staff are very helpful. The manager of Bong Sen Annex is a great guy but I would say the location is the problem, not the hotel.
Can't speak for the other hotels on your list.

Hi! I stayed at the Spring Hotel this time last year. It was very nice, big room, views, huge good breakfast, good service, I can recommend on my stay here.
Click onto my name, then Ho Chi Minh and accommodation link, I have photos and more details for you to look at.

Hi,
I was there nearly 2 years ago and stayed at the Hong Sen (not the Bong Sen 1) it is in Dong Khoi St almost opposite the Bong Sen 1. While not luxury it was clean, has a good pool on the roof and the Breakfast was good. Their Pho for breakfast was very good and I tried a lot when I was there and became addicted, just love it. It is cheaper then the Bong Sen 1 and I think very good value for money and in THE VERY BEST LOCATION.

Yes, I agree with Chrissy50 about Hong Sen Hotel. If I'm spelling it correctly I think Hong Sen means lotus flower. I stayed there in 2000 and I remember it to be quite nice. Back then there was a Baskin-Robbins ice cream doorway right in the lobby. B-R is gone now but I was lucky I didn't stay there longer than 4 days before flying back to the States. I lost 10 kilo on the bike trip from from Ha Noi to Saigon and started to gain it back with that darned Baskin-Robbins almost in the lobby.
