Will there be tickets available for trains between Nimes and Avignon on the evening of 7th April? We're trying to get a train after 1830hrs, the RailEurope website aren't any trains showing after 1804hrs.

Trains from Nimes to Avignon are very regular. At the time you are looking at, your best choices would be one that leaves Nimes at 18.46 or one that leaves Nimes at 20.32. Both take about 30 minutes to get to Avignon Centre. You do not need to book tickets, you will be able to buy them right up to the time that you board the train. If there are no seats left when you come to buy your ticket (highly unlikely) then you may have to stand for the trip. I can't see this happening however. These trains are Regional Express, 2nd class only and don't take seat reservations. You just buy your ticket and hop on the train, you will not be left standing on the platform, you will always be able to get on whichever train you choose. Don't go near Rail Europe, especially for a short trip such as this, you will pay through the teeth as Rail Europe is an agency that takes commission out of every sale.

I just wanted to confirm that none of the trains at this time are Téoz which require advance purchase tickets in spite of the fact that the seats are not reserved. Indeed, just as Maryimelda points out, just purchase a ticket before departure and you'll have no problem. If you do not arrive early and there are crowds you may not get a seat but the en route time is only 30 minutes.
