Is it heavy rain in Manlia during june 18 to end of june? Posted: Sun March 29, 2009 03:47 AM UTC
Asking few people what it is like during month of June, different answer from different people though I ask direct from Filipinos who live here in the States.
Is june a month where plenty of rainfall and then stop for few hours and rain again? If so I have no problem with it, just so not rain all day, that i cannot go sight seeing and shopping.
Thank to everyone of answer.

I think you get varying responses from people, because they have varying experiences of rainfall in the month of June. Before, we can safely say that June is wet season, lots of rain and even typhoons. But recent global climatic changes brought a slightly different weather pattern here.
About 3rd week of June last year, there was a typhoon that passed through the night in Manila. But previous years to that, the rains came in July.
That said, unless there's a typhoon, rains come intermittently to give you time to sight see. For shopping, big malls are well covered and if you go to Ayala center, Glorietta and Greenbelt areas are connected by covered, elevated pedestrian pathways.

you will find varying answer here as well. For one, I have experience a June where it never rained. In fact it was sunny half of the month and cloudy skies in the afternoon.
There are June that are mostly wet and the earth is soaked that it flooded the main roads and street.
I reacall when the rainy season was late into August and June was searing hot.
When you experience June here, you will add to another kind of answer.
Having said that, the rain is not a big issue among us. We bend but never break with the rain.
Enjoy your June! (and the rain)

The month of June is still part of the rainy season in the Philippines. Having said that, I'm sorry to disappoint you, but not even our Weather station here can tell you today/this early what kind of weather will occur between June 18-30. The effects of global warming has affected the predictability of weather, too. Just last week, we had heavy rains in some parts of the country, when it was still supposed to be a dry season. Now, it is sunny and humid.
Rain or shine, people go on with their lives here. You know, there are so many nice covered places to go to for pleasure or relaxation. And if you're the adventurous type, you'll even enjoy basking in the rain. I had guests from Amsterdam who got excited with the sudden downpour when we were at Ayala Center in Makati. They even took souvenir shots of the Shopping Complex during heavy downpour, then wet their hands and face while we were walking on the bridgeway. I guess your enjoyment anytime, anywhere is a personal decision.

Yes, the climates have changed. June is the start of the school season and sometimes there may be rainshowers, but actually that is a part of the tropical experience. But usually, it is not a continuous downpour...unless it is a typhoon. Most likely (according to my "magic weather ball"), you will experience a quick downpour followed by a refreshing coolness in the atmosphere....hope that's what you will have. Have fun, rain or shine, Norman :)

My personal observation: for the past 5 years or so, perhaps due to the global changes in weather, rainy season starts late now. When I was small (and Christmas trees were tall ;), rains start ot arrive mid to late part of May, but now, it's later, way later.
If you're considering going to other islands in the Philippines, the weather concern will be different. Like the Visayas (especially the central part) Islands seldom experience heavy rains and storms.
