Quebec Chateau Frontenac Etiquette
Posted: Fri March 27, 2009 05:33 AM UTC
What is the lay of the land like in this hotel? Rather posh, can it be a bit "stuffy" if you know what I mean? A laid back Cali, it would be nice to know of any potential land mines prior to a week long stay.

In other words, I'm more of a fine pint beer kind of guy talking about the long lost Québec Nordiques opposed to a politically correct three-pieced suit intellectual conversationalist.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers

Hi! It's actually not as stuffy as you think it would be. I sometimes stop by the Chateau's bar for a drink when I'm in the old city and I don't feel out of place wearing jeans - some people do dress up, but there are so many tourists around that it ends up keeping things pretty casual. And don't get me started on the Nordiques! ;o) Hope you enjoy your time in Quebec City!

As Jeffie said, don't worry about etiquette at Chateau Frontenac. You'll see all kinds. You'll also find in the old city plenty of nice pubs to enjoy a fine pint of beer.

I'd be more worried talking about the Nordiques. For some, the wound is still wide open...:-)) especially as the playoffs are approaching

I think starting a conversation supporting the long lost Nordiques would be a great conversation -- however, perhaps not until you have shared a few pints already. It is the same here in Winnipeg with the Jets.
