Auckland X*%$ Luggages & Churches

Aloha, from VT's newest member. I'm very impressed with this forum, had to become a member.
We are taking a cruise from Auckland, arriving at 6:30am and leaving around 6 pm. Your replies to the similar question gave us good idea what we can do. Thank you for that. However, I have a couple of questions. Since we arrive on Easter Sunday. we'd like to visit Anglican church in CBD if possible. Does anyone recommend any particular church? Also, any idea what to do with our @#%#luggages?

As Parnell, an easy walk or short bus trip from the CBD, is my favourite suburb of Auckland I recommend to visit Holy Trinity Cathedral. This church has historic significance, and on the same grounds is beautiful St. Mary's Church. Holy Trinity is THE Anglican church in AKL. For example, the funeral service for Sir Edmund Hillary has taken place there.

You can store luggage at all i-sites (Visitor Information Centres) in Auckland. The luggage is stored in a room (no lockers).

There are two sites in the CBD, best the one at Sky City because it opens at 8am already. Another one at Princes Wharf at 9am on Sunday.

Thank you (Mahalo), Kakapo2, for your reply. Your answer is worth more than 3 hours of searching the Net, including NZ's official site, .govt. We now plan to visit the Holy Trinity Church as you recommended. Best, Reiko

It is rather hopeless to search the net for luggage storage. I have no idea why the Visitor Information Centres (nearly anywhere in the world) do not clearly indicate on their websites where such places are located, as outside the airports it has become so difficult to find storage places since they are considered as possible terrorist targets. In former times nearly every railway station in the world had lockers and/or left luggage facilities. I only found out about Auckland by calling the information centre... ;-)

Anyway, happy travels, enjoy your cruise, the church and Parnell :-)

Thank you, Kakapo2, for your information. We went from Airport to Sky Tower right away. Sky Tower Hotel's bellboy has taken our luggage for safekeeping which was helpful. We had great time in Auckland, thanks to you. Our cruise was just magical, thanks to Celebrity.
