hey
can any one suggest good hotel in range of 15-20 dollar per person we are 2 people and i also want to know about public transport in colombo mostly from airport to colombo town and are they safe and does they work 24hrs?

Hi there,

Do you mean Colombo (for hotels) or Chennai? For the latter, ask in India forum.

Airport to Colombo town:
a) Free red bus, waiting at the far east end of the arrivals pavement, to Katunayake bus station (about 1 km away). Goes every 15-20 minutes at daytime, at night probably a longer wait.
b) Express bus from there to Colombo Fort station. Goes when 'full enough', at daytime usually every 10-15 mins. Is safe. Luggage capacity, like in all Lanka buses, quite limited - backpack okay suitcase not.

Inside Colombo it's plenty of buses (often built in India), line system is complex so ask your local accomodation.
