Hello! I am a female undergraduate student coming to study Arabic at the University of Jordan Language Center this June until August. The UJLC site suggests several options for foreign female students, including female and international on-campus dorms and several off-campus female hostels nearby like the Amoun, Jerash, and Utopia Hostels. Does anyone have any experience with these places or suggestions for others? Also, if anyone knows of a homestay I could be set up with, that would be great too. Basically, I am just looking for the best environment to practice my Arabic and meet as many people as possible, as I will be travelling by myself. Any info would be greatly appreciated :)

I studied at University of Jordan language centre many years ago. Behind the university is a small town called DJBEYHA- It is a ("upper scale"?) town which I rented my own room with my own private entrance with a family, it was very reasonable. Of course I am male but maybe if you are seeking freedom a bit it is an option. A ladyfriend of mine also studying stayed at AL-ANDALUS hostel.

I am also going to study at the university of jordan language centre this summer, and am similarly trying to find hostels...
If you could let me know what you've found, if anything, I'd be very greatful!
