I am contemplating a week long stay in the "world's most expensive city" sometime in June. Having spent most of my money on my last trip, I'm hoping to get the most "bang for my buck" in Russia. If I stay in cheap hostels, utilize public transportation, buy groceries or dine in very inexpensive eateries, and minimize souvenir spending, how much can I expect to pay realistically? I appreciate your thoughts and help.

When did you be in Peru - very known place in your front pic? ;) Well back to business.
Moscow metro pass for 10 enter - 200 Rubles (~6 USD), for 20 enter - 380 Rubles (~ 11 USD), for 60 enter - 865 Rubles (~25 USD) - than more enter than cheaper, not underground transport: one journey - 20 Rubles (60 cent), 5 journey - 85 Rubles (2.5 USD).
If you'll take with you travel kettle - you'll be able to cook youself and have one meal in eateries (McDonalds) - 3-5 USD. Let me know what groceries wll you want to buy fpr week and I'll write you total amount for livelihood ;)

Moscow is expensive of course,but a lot of opportunities for common people.Fast foods,commuter and some supermarkets are cheap enough.Don't panic!
