Forum Question Posted By: Replies:
Santiago Anyone know of a nice moderately priced hotel, also transportation Santiago to Cruise Port

We are flying to Santiago April 22 and will be boarding a cruise ship on the 26th. We want a nice clean moderately priced hotel in a safe neighborhood for 4 nights. Also any suggestions on what to do in the area? Will also need transportation from hotel to the cruise port. Any ideas and costs?

Hi there,

The cheapest way to get from Santiago to Valparaiso where you take your cruise is to take a bus. These are safe and easy to use too. There is information posted in previous forum postings if you want to look at those. I also have the details of the bus on my Santiago, Valparaiso and Viña del Mar pages.

I suggest you look for a hotel in Providencia (around Pedro de Valdivia metro for example there are quite a number of reasonable hotels and apart/hotels), There is one called La Sebasitiana which is actually in Las Condes but not far from metro Tobalaba. I have information on this place on my Santiago page also.

In Santiago I suggest you go up Cerro San Cristobal, walk around downtown to see the Plaza de Armas, Moneda Palace, Cerro Santa Lucia, Mercado Central.
Please take a look at my Santiago page for details.

Cheers,
Rhianon
