Montreal Accomodation in Montreal
Posted: Wed March 25, 2009 03:10 PM UTC
Hello All!
I would go with my lover in Montreal this summer to visit Canada also where I've never been. I will spend a month there.
Does anyone know a place where I could stay for less than a hotel and have some privacy?
Thank you in advance for your answers!
Regards

I'm in the exact same boat, although I'll only be in Montreal for about a week.
I'm in the process of trying to reserve this: http://www.mcgill.ca/residences/summer/

The McGill residences, albeit cheap, will not exactly offer the privacy you and your lover might be looking for.

You might be better off trying to sublet an apartement vacated by University students during summer months. This site offers several options : http://www.sublet.com/town_rentals/canada/montrealarea_towns.asp
Craigslist may be another option

While in Montreal, make sure you plan on spending a week end in Quebec City during the summer festival: http://www.infofestival.com/Html/en-ca/index.html

Good luck.

I stayed at McGill for a week during the summer of 2006 and I can definitely recommend it. The accommodation consists of basic student study bedrooms, with communal bathroom facilities. It's cheap and about half the price of a B&B. Cafeteria breakfast is included in the price. The university is in an excellent location, up a bit of a steep hill, about 15 mins walk from both St Catherine and St Lawrence.
