Perth Good Friday in Perth
Posted: Wed March 25, 2009 06:36 AM UTC
I just realized in my itinerary that we will be spending a day around Perth city on Good Friday. It looks like Swan Bells Tower is closed that day. What about the shops around the city? Will most places be close for that day?

Most shops and tourist places are closed. In fact the only reliable thing opened on Good Friday are churches. Plan on spending the day having a picnic in Kings Park etc. Also becareful of the public transport system less trains run on public holidays.

Cheers Heather

Everything is closed evderywhere except...Fremantle, so head there...there are quite a few restaurants and shops open, but not all....Fremantle does a roaring trade on Fridays....just watch train times as they will be on a public holiday schedule!

Thanks David haha I'll plug the southwest anytime,. Burekup is located in the southwest 20km north or Bunbury.
Its my hometown, it consists of 9 streets, school, club, tennis courts and our famous shop. And thats about it! You can buy beer and alcohol at the shop but forget about a hot cuppa!

Its world famous for its one shop and magnificent Rotary Observation Tower (see my Burekup pages for details). Its also on the way to the amazing GNOMESVILLE - now that might take a bit of research to find out more, but don't get lost.

Most places will also be open in Rockinghma as it is a designated tourist area the same as Fremantle. It's now only just 36 mins on the train and most of the new extentions on the now very large shopping centre have been finished with lots of new shops and food hall.
