France student visa from Russia to France
Posted: Fri November 14, 2003 05:59 PM UTC
Hi everyone - my girlfriend is applying for a student visa in France - we want a long-term visa, and for a year, and she will be studying at the Alliance Française, a private school. Has anyone had any problems with student visas in France? Can anyone give us any advice on obtaining it?
Thanks!

The school will need to arrange an invitation from the Mairie or Prefecture.
It will have to show that she is coming to take a course, how long the course is and the number of hours she will be studying.
Then they have to send it to her and she then takes it to the French Embassy in Moscow.

She will need to show that she has enough money to live on while she is here.
Also it would help if she has a return air ticket rather than a single ticket.
But don't buy the ticket before she has the visa.

The AF arrange these visas all the time. She could go to their office in Moscow (or any other city if she does not live in Moscow) and ask for further details of how tthey can help her.

My friends came through from Russia to France with individual invitations that I arranged for them - they had no trouble at all
