Hi -

can anybody please advise me on a cheap hotel around Cape Town < R300 ...preferably one which is clean and has a TV where I could watch DVD'S.

My daighter has used this back-packer hostel in Cape Town, and thought it very good value. It would be within your budget. It would be difficult to get cheaper accomodation, because Cape Town is popular as a tourist destination.

I just came back this week. Check out Big Blue in Green Point. The location is perfect - a few minutes walk from Waterfront and an easy 15 minute walk to Long Street. For 6 Rand the mini busses will get you out to the beaches. Big Blue is quiet at night - unlike some of the places right downtown, internet is free, there are two TV's, a pool and the staff are great.
